Blackstone Desert Camps was founded and is run by Said Legbouri, a city and circuit tour guide licensed by Morocco’s Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy for the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region (licence no. 3489). Said leads the camp’s rock art expeditions and hamada crossings himself.
Why Blackstone
Most visitors to the Moroccan Sahara never see the black stone desert. Blackstone exists to show it properly, with small groups, time on the ground, local families as hosts rather than props, and rock art treated as heritage to protect rather than a backdrop.

Questions travellers ask
Are the guides at Blackstone licensed?
Yes. Rock art expeditions and hamada crossings are led by Said Legbouri, licensed guide no. 3489. For larger groups, other licensed guides from the region join the team.
How can I check that a tour guide in Morocco is licensed?
Licensed guides carry an official card issued by the Ministry of Tourism, showing their name, licence number, languages and region. You can ask to see it before your tour.
